Introduction
Born in 1953 in Den Helder. Trained and worked as a teacher, drama teacher, arts manager, and philosophy teacher. From 2003 to 2010, Humanist Spiritual Counselor in the Armed Forces.
Trained as a visual artist at the Utrecht Centre for the Arts. Worked as a visual artist for over ten years. My work has been featured in eight exhibitions and is included in over 50 private collections.
From a young age, I learned, from the Jewish tradition, that asking questions is important. This teaches you to reflect on yourself and to understand others. My art is an artistic response to these existential questions. It's not about the perfect answer, but invites follow-up questions and new productions. Personal experiences are abstracted and translated into a repetitive movement. The infinite is delimited, and the distance to repetition is bridged by the materials used, often soft and tactile. My work fits into the tradition of minimalism and geometric abstraction.
